A Call from El Salvador

We got to talk to the sweet boy last Sunday. Thank goodness for Mother's day! He's his usual self, with the addition of a foreign accent here and there. He stumbles on his words and forgets how to explain things in English. It has now been 1 year and 10 months! When we even brought up how close it was to him coming home he said "Let's not talk about that, I still have a lot to get done." (or something along those lines) He's so focused, and boy am I proud of him!

He said they were getting changes and so he was saying goodbye to all of the families he's gotten close to. He called this one woman (I forgot her name) and when he told her that he would be leaving the area he said it sounded like her house was on fire! She started wailing and calling for her daughter saying "He's leaving, HE'S LEAVING!" I can only imagine how much those El Salvadorians have grown to love him.
